Voor jullie gaat misschien alles opnieuw zijn
gangetje na de zomervakantie. Een normale routine
begint opnieuw.
circus skills workshop tijdens plaatselijke
activiteiten.
MERSEYFEST
We hadden een team van 27 in Liverpool. Daar
Penketh. Daar hadden we onze Bijbelstudies, zang
- en gebeds tijd en leerden we dansen, drama’s en
sketches aan. Iedereen was betrokken bij het
aanleren of het leren van dansen. Onze Bethany en
Caleb waren clowns en Bethany was in een dans.
Abigail was in twee dansen. Elisabeth was in een
drama. Iedereen leerde ook een lied in
gebarentaal.
gieten. Andere programma’s werden uiteindelijk
afgelast. De volgende dag verhuisden we van
Penketh naar Liverpool en kampeerdenwenet als
duizenden anderen in Croxteth Park. Merseyfest
begon. Na het morgen programma (zang en
Bibelstudie,…) haalden we ons lunchpakket en
gingen naar de bussen. De bus bracht ons naar
Penketh waar we onze projecten deden. Die waren
verven van railings en clubhuis, tuinieren, een
pad aanleggen, spelletjes op een grasveld en
straatevangelisatie. Gedurende Merseyfest hadden
we mooi weer.
Gemeente Mortsel.
Albns.
We moeten
God hierin zien te voorzien. Plus geld voor
andere onkosten daar.
Kings Kids west Europeese conferentie.
andere teams doen over Europa.
We
Ruth is
WEB SITE.
Elisabeth is in Brownies, Girls
brigade and tribe. Abigail is nog steeds in Girls
Brigade en nu ookm in Rainbows. Het lijkt wel of
we niet5s anders doen dan kinderen ophalen en
afzetten elke avond.

For most of you life was probably back to normal
from summer holidays, though if you are anything
like us normal isn’t a word we would use. Though
we are back into a routine of assemblies, after
school clubs and taking our own children to all
their activities but that is as far as it goes.
No two weeks are the same and if you look at our
calendar we are all over the place up till
Christmas. More about that later, but first what
have we been up to for the last few months.
Most of the summer was either doing or planning
Merseyfest. With enough time; to set up a prayer
tent (for Make poverty history) during an all age
event at the King’s Lodge, Finish off schools
work, do some circus skills workshops at local
events and Robert to fly of to Berlin for a day.
Put the 15th July 2006 in your diary as there is
going to be a huge 10 hour worship event in
Berlin.
MERSEYFEST.
We took a team of 27 to join in with a few
thousand in Liverpool. There we all were involved
in various projects in and around Liverpool with
the corporation of
local councils, police, churches and clubs. We
started off by three training days were we spend
time doing teachings, worship and intercession.
It was also the time of learning songs,
choreographies, sketches and drama. Everyone was
involved in either teaching or learning. As a
team we were part of the openings ceremony of
Merseyfest. What started as a wet, windy day
turned out nice and sunny while we were on stage.
The following day we moved to tent city and were
part of the Merseyfest programme. After the
morning sessions (worship, teaching,..) we
collected our packed lunch and headed for the
busses. We were bussed into Penketh were we did
our projects of painting railings, youth club,
gardening, ying a path and games on the rec. All
through our time in Liverpool we were blessed
with beautiful weather. The rain came back as we
were loading up the cars to go home. It was a sad
goodbye but a few people said they were
interested in joining us in Belgium next year.
We have been very busy since we got back and will
be till Christmas.
It all started with a weekend in Belgium where we
did the teenagers programme for Ruth’s parents
home church. The theme was the Holy Spirit at the
adult programme so we used that for ours. We also
enjoyed the company of family and catching up
with people from the church. We were in the
beautiful surroundings of ‘Spa’ in Walloon.
Caleb and Sam illustrating unity. The
following weekend we were in Harpenden and St.
Albans. On the Saturday we prepared for the
church service we taking the next day. The King’s
Kids network group ‘Crown jewels’ was part of
this and is was good to work together. On the
Sunday we were there with 65 taking part at the
Italian churches service.
Over half term we helped a church in Stafford
with running a holiday club in the morning, while
in the afternoon we were involved with creative
workshops, all this lead up to a performance at
the end of the week. We had a great team of the
church helping us and besides putting us up for
the week they also provided us with amazing
cooked meals.
Robert didn’t take on the Scottish weather as the
Niko he would have been involved with got
cancelled. But he did run a Niko challenge for
two days for the Discipleship training school
students at the Lodge. It was an interesting and
challenging time both for students and staff.
Robert did have to miss two days in Stafford
because of this but the rest of the family was
there.
Coming up
The main project is our trip to South Africa to
help our PCYM students in fulfilling their school
requirements. Flights will come to an approximate
total of £2700 for the six of us. We need to see
God provide for this, as well as for our expenses
once there. Richie and Andy are also planning to
go but both of them need to see all their
finances still come in.
Before that we will be in Switzerland at a Kings
Kids Western Europe conference. This will be the
ideal opportunity to link up with other Kings
Kids teams and besides teachings also learn what
they are doing in their own countries. The
children are looking forward to meeting up with
old friends.
We are also busy in collecting and writing prayer
materials for ‘The Asian Prayer strategy’. This
is an initiative to get people all over the world
to pray for China and its surrounding countries
for three months. We will be starting up an all
age prayer group in January at the King’s Lodge
which will follow the prayer strategy. This
strategy will include a e-mail / skype party
which KK has to organise that will be a big
undertaking.
Next big event will be Spring Harvest. We
are back at Skegness doing the 8’s-11s. Theme is
one big God.
The first people have already applied and have
been accepted. Ruth will be busy as she is taking
on doing the admin for that. But it isn’t as bad
as it used to be because Spring Harvest does an
awful lot of it now.
WEB SITE. The Kinderman’s now have a website. You
can find us on www.kindermanflock.zoomshare.com
We are hoping to keep it up to date with
information and will try to get our newsletter on
there too. We hope you will enjoy it and please
do give us tips on how we can improve it.
US AS A FAMILY.
Bethany’s school; has started and she is very
exited to be back. Bethany is now also going to
girl’s brigade and loves it there. With Ruth now
helping it means that Caleb is left at home and
enjoys having his dad all to himself. Caleb is
now going to beavers, boy’s brigade and the
tribe, Elisabeth is in Brownies, girl’s brigade
and tribe. Abigail is in girl’s brigade and
rainbows. It seems we do nothing else but drop
off and pick up children every night. We do
however get a break on Thursdays and the weekend
(if we are free).
Robert didn’t get to do the level two Nico
because one got cancelled and another one was
already full. He was disappointed but still hopes
to do a level two some day. However he did take a
daytrip to Berlin. There Robert and Andy were
part of a planning meeting for a worship event at
the 15th July. The children were exited when he
phoned them from Berlin to say goodnight.
This went out later than we hoped, but we still
hope to fit one in just before Christmas. In
which we will tell more about family trips and
events that have been squeezed out of this one,
by all the other things we have been doing.

Merseyfest
Following Festival Manchester and Soul in the
city in London it was the turn of Liverpool this
year to host the camping of loads of Christians
and do with them serve the communities in and
around Liverpool.
As you may or may not know we work for Kings Kids
which is part of Youth With A Mission. This
summer king’s kids were taking teams all over the
world. We decided as a family to Liverpool. Our
team slowly got to form and we had applications
from kids in Egypt, Switzerland, Belgium and
England. Some people dropped out and others
applied. There were two people interested from
Brazil but they couldn’t make it in the end. In
the end we had a team of 27 people (9 were
staff). The youngest participant was 4 the oldest
17. The youngest staff member was 18 and the
oldest 40. We were a very mixed and international
team.
On the 10th august we, as a family, left for
Penketh were we would have our boot camp or
training camp. We were the first ones to arrive
and slowly others started to arrive after us.
The first day was very much spent on getting to
know each other. 7 Local young people would join
us for the training days. It was great to see
the two groups getting to know each other. The
next three days was spend on worship,
intercession, teachings and teaching drama’s,
choreographies and sketches. All ages were
involved in these from doing them or teaching
them. The team had to work very hard in learning
these since we were doing a performance in
Liverpool city centre on Saturday.
When the Saturday came we left for Liverpool.
First we went to Croxteth park, were we will be
camping from Sunday onwards for a week, to
register the team. From there we went to the city
centre. It was pouring with rain and it didn’t
look good. The stage which wasn’t covered was wet
and other problems arose from this. Still our
team was not going to be defeated and before we
were due on we all huddled together and prayed.
By the time it was our turn the sun was out and
it was pleasant warmth. During the times we were
on it was dry but the minute we had done our last
performance it started to pour down again. We had
seen our first answer to prayer as a team.
The following Sunday we packed up and moved from
Penketh to Croxteth park. Our tents were pitched
and meals were cooked for us. Together with about
3000 other Christians we were camping in the park
our home for the next week. Every morning we all
met in the big tent for worship, prayer and
teachings as well as updates of the projects that
will be done this week.
After we picked our packed lunch from the mesh
tent we headed for the bus which would taken us
to Penketh were our projects were. There were
some other teams going with us to Penketh and we
were with 48 in total. In Penketh we had five
projects to get involved with. We were painting
railings, gardening, laying a footpath, painting
a youth club, did some things at an event for the
elderly, games and circus clowning things on the
rec and performances. The people from Penketh
were very supportive and kept us fed and
supplying us with drinks. Three evenings there
were concerts on the rec that we started of with
performances. The projects went well and we
managed to finish all of them. At one point it
didn’t seem that we would manage. For the week we
had the extra help of young offenders. They
worked so hard and didn’t mind hard labour. On
the last day we prayed with them and cheered.
They were the heroes; we couldn’t have done some
things without them.
It had been a good experience to see our team
come together and work so hard. They were open to
hear from God and we saw God working in their
lives as well as shinning out from them.
It was a sad goodbye after the debriefing when we
all went our separate ways again. However some
have already said they want to come with us to
Belgium next summer!
